Veronica Arndt was born to Regina and Antonino Ganci in Martinez, CA. Her beloved Father passed away in 1952 when Roni was in the 5th grade. Roni’s family moved to San Francisco where she lived the rest of her life. She attended St. Agnes Grammar School and Presentation High School (1959). She married Michael Arndt and, after divorice, worked hard as a single mother to provide a wonderful life for her daughters, Elizabeth and Victoria. Roni was the beloved Motherin-law and Grandmother to the families of both her girls: Elizabeth and Stephen McPartlan (Matthew and Claire), and Victoria and Gregory Schmitt (Kevin & Jenna).

Roni spent a lot of her free time making beautiful quilts for people she loved. She enjoyed working with friends on quilting projects, and will be missed by many in the quilting community. Roni loved cooking and baking and would often make favorites for her daughters’ families, including “Grandma Roni’s Spaghetti”, scones, cookies, and Irish bread. Roni was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Gabriel’s church for 50 years.

Roni was preceded in death by her father, Antonino Ganci, her mother, Regina Kramer, her stepfather, Carl Kramer and her brother Richard Ganci. The family will hold private services, and a celebration of life for friends and family will be announced in the coming weeks.
