Lioco Wine Co.

One of the best tasting rooms on the square, Lioco serves beautifully balanced wines in its sleek, bar-like setting. The vibe here is more casual than at many tasting rooms in the area; you can even walk in without an appointment, which is becoming a rarity these days. Opt for the Headwaters flight ($35), a set of four single-vineyard wines, including a snappy Gruner Veltliner.

Noble Folk Ice Cream & Pie Bar

To cool off in the afternoon sun, try Noble Folk’s seasonal ice cream flavors, among the best the Bay Area has to offer. Opt for one of the fruity options like blood orange raspberry or passion fruit, or go for one of the fan favorites like black sesame or Dutch cookie. Owners Ozzy Jimenez and Christian Sullberg also serve a selection of inventive pies and cupcakes — like a Meyer lemon blueberry custard pie or an olive oil cupcake with a lemon cream cheese frosting — popularized by their previous local business, Mustache Baked Goods. Be prepared to wait in line if you’re visiting over a weekend.

Bacchus Landing

Getting into most wineries requires a little bit of planning at the moment, but that’s not the case at Bacchus Landing, where reservations aren’t required for many of the options. This rare tasting room space features multiple local wineries in the same location, including high-end, limited-production Sonoma wineries Aldina Vineyards and AldenAlli. Come here for the wine, with several showcasing Pinot Noirs, and stay for the bocce ball courts. Plus, Bacchus Landing has an artisanal food market, should you be looking for substantial food options like sandwiches and charcuterie plates.
