William Clark

-

William Edward “Bill” Clark, born May 6, 1942, in San Francisco, passed away peacefully at Sutter Health Hospital surrounded by loved ones on July 22, 2022. He lived in his beloved Noe Valley neighborhood all his life. He attended St. James Catholic School and graduated from Sacred Heart High School - Class of 1960.

Bill started working for the Sign Display Allied Crafts Local Union No. 510 on June 5, 1969; and he retired January 1, 200S. He helped family and friends get jobs in the union.

If ever you needed to be in touch with Bill between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m., you could find him in his car parked on 24th Street between Castro and Noe, reading his newspaper and enjoying his cup of coffee and maybe his eyes would follow some young lady walking down 24th Street. He was a devoted patron of the Peaks, a bar in Noe Valley where he could be found between the hours of 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.; not sure if he willed his notorious bar stool to anyone; but it should be set in a glass case because that was his renowned seat! That stool was reserved for Bill; and he made sure everyone knew that!

Bill is preceded in death by his beloved daughter Dana, sister Kay Collins, sister in laws Toni and Marlene, brothers R. Kelly and Timothy, and nephew Patrick Collins; and is survived by his brother Dick, ex-sister in law Darlene, ex-wife Cathy, nephews Tom Collins, Frank Collins, Kelly Clark, Roger Clark, Jeff Clark, Cary Clark, and niece Julie Malone; great nephews Christopher Clark, Timothy Kelly Clark, Alex Bradley, Zachary Clark, Alyx Clark, Robert Clark; Jed Malone, Patrick Collins, Jr., and Kalen Collins; great nieces Ashley Clark, Sophia Lorenzo, Jace Radovich, Chelsea Clark Howard, Tyler Sheridan Clark, and Jazalyn Clark, many great-grand nieces and nephews, and relatives both in California and Iowa.

There will be a mass for Bill on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, located at Church and Valley Streets, in San Francisco.
