Terry (Tandy) Moriarty

February 5, 1939 - August 2, 2022

A life of 83 years full of love of others came to a peaceful close August 2, 2022, at home in San Francisco. Terry was surrounded by family as she passed. Beloved wife to Dennis for 57 years, loving mother of Matthew (Susan), Sean (Tara), Patrick (Jackie), and Tandy (Jenn), and adored grandmother to her treasures Reilly, Shalinde, Joseph, Christina, Carrick, Molly, Stella, and Rose. Terry is survived by numerous in-laws and outlaws whom she loved dearly.

Born February 5, 1939, to Florence and Joseph Tandy in Noe Valley. An only child and Joe’s little girl, Terry graduated from St. Philip, Mercy High, and San Francisco State where she also obtained a Master’s in Special Education. Terry taught for 38 years in the San Francisco Unified School District, principally in the first grade.

At every stage of her life, Terry met new lifelong friends who are too numerous to mention here. She loved her grandchildren, a good party, and a fairly played game of Pedro. She was cared for dearly by her caregivers Josepha, Corazon, and Jou Ann during the final year of her life. Terry is currently shopping for good deals in Heaven that St. Peter didn’t realize were there.

A celebration of Terry’s life and Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 12th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 2555 17th Avenue in San Francisco.
