Rochelle Figari Celedon

-

Devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend, passed on August 3, 2022 in her Merced Manor home at age 70, surrounded by family. A San Francisco native, Rochelle attended Convent of the Sacred Heart High School, finishing Magna Cum Laude and went on to graduate from the University of San Francisco during which time she met her husband and “Pal” John. Chelle, known to many family and friends as “Mommy Chelle” over the years was a wellspring of creativity, never lacking for inspiration but only outlets. She could not sit idle until forced to do so in her last year, but even then, found ways to connect and motivate those who adored her. Always unapologetically herself, she truly inspired and touched many hearts during her life. Rochelle is survived by her loving husband, John, of 46 years and her children in order of age; Bryan, Kevin (Lisa), and Danny (Iliana) as well as 5 grandchildren, Dyvin, Joshua, Kaiden, Isabella, and David. Her memory is survived in each of us and in everything she created over a lifetime.

Friends and Family may visit during the viewing on Wednesday, August 17th from 5:00pm to 6:30pm at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 451 Eucalyptus Drive where a Vigil Service will begin at 6:30pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated the following day at 11:00am, Thursday, August 18th at St. Stephen’s. There will be a family ceremony the following week at Holy Cross Cemetery.

As an alternative to flowers, donations can be made on behalf of Rochelle to The Myositis Association at www.myositis.org/donate

Don Feehan, 88, passed peacefully at his long-time home surrounded by his loving family on August 6.

He is survived and loved dearly by Toni, his wife of over 57 years, his four children: Stacy (Scott) Gediman; Kara Feehan; Steve (Jeanie) Feehan; Greg (Linda) Feehan; his 8 grandchildren: Chloe, Haley, Jake, Sydney, Olivia, Sienna, Rylee, and Austin; his sister, Sally; his sister-in-law, Lulu, and many other dear family and friends.

A true San Franciscan, he was born and raised in the city, graduating from Saint Ignatius high school and University of San Francisco. A sports enthusiast, he grew up playing basketball on the courts at the city’s playgrounds and continued playing as a freshman at USF and at the Olympic Club, where he was a member for over 50 years. Through highs and lows, he was a life-long and faithful 49er, SF Giants and Golden State Warriors fan, attending games for his entire life. After army service and an extended European trip with friends, he began his 40+ year career in the rental car industry, mostly with Hertz Rent-a-Car as a pioneering marketing executive whose contributions cannot be overestimated.

Shortly after returning from Europe in 1960, Don began dating Toni, a fellow San Franciscan, and made the best decision of his life in marrying her in 1964. He adored and loved Toni above all, and they enjoyed a loving and adventure-filled marriage replete with a great devotion to family, an incredibly active social life, world travels, and no reported arguments.

In 1970, he and Toni moved across the bridge to escape the fog, settling in their San Rafael home of 50+ years. Despite a busy work schedule, he was always active in his children’s activities, schools, the Catholic parish, and the overall Marin community.

After his retirement at 68, he travelled extensively with Toni and friends, golfed at Peacock and Meadow Club, “worked out” at Olympic Club and served on both company and charitable boards, including many years on the Board of Hanna Boys Center, a center for at risk youth, in Sonoma.

Don cherished family gatherings during the holidays and organized family trips throughout the world. He touched the lives of all he met and had so many special attributes: fun and festive, generous in spirit, giving with his time and support to the community and those in need, great sense of humor, strong Catholic faith, a passion for travel, and an incredibly loyal friend.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hanna Boys Center for Boys https://www. hannacenter.org/; Marin Center for Independent Living https://www.marincil. org; or Saint Vincent de Paul Society of Marin County https://www.vinnies.org/.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Raphael’s Church, 1104 Fifth Avenue, San Rafael, CA at 11 am on Friday, August 26, followed by a reception.
