2 slain, cyclist fatally struck in chaos

Three people were killed during a chaotic scene in West Oakland that involved a fatal shooting and a car fatally striking a bicyclist, police said.

Oakland police responded around 7:30 p.m. Friday to the 2800 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way and found two men who were fatally shot, according to authoritie­s. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigat­ors told NBC Bay Area that when officers arrived they found vehicles involved in a collision and a bicyclist who appeared to have been struck by one of the vehicles. He also was pronounced dead at the scene.

The three deceased people were not immediatel­y identified by authoritie­s.
