Barbara Lee Gallegos

Barbara was born to Cora Dunlap Lee and William Allen Lee in Berkeley CA. She was a 4th generation California­n. She attended George Washington High School in San Francisco where she was a member of the Honor Society. Barbara attended University of California at Berkeley and joined the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She majored in history and graduated in 1945. She obtained a teaching credential in 1946 in secondary education. She received a master’s degree in counseling. She spent her entire career with the San Francisco Unified School District.

In 1962 she married Elmer Gallegos. Her hobbies were playing bridge and traveling. She and Elmer visited every continent except Antarctica.

Barbara is survived by her children Christine Raptis, Joanna Flynn-Hill (Ron Hill), and Daniel Gallegos. She was predecease­d by her husband Elmer and her son Paul Gallegos. She had eight grandchild­ren Jeremy Flynn, Brent Raptis, Cory Flynn, Michael Gallegos, Megan Gallegos, Amelia Gallegos, Cora Gallegos and Everett Gallegos and one great granddaugh­ter Madison Flynn.

By request no funeral will be scheduled. There will be a small private family burial. She will be buried with her mother, husband and son at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Colma, California.
