SAYING HEY TO THE SAY HEY KID

Before the Giants’ game on Wednesday, I was told that Hall of Famer Willie Mays would be at Oracle Park. I expected to photograph him from field level in a luxury suite. To my honor and surprise, writer John Shea arranged for me to spend 15 minutes with Mays as he held court in the Giants’ clubhouse. It was a joy to capture the Say Hey Kid’s infectious smile and his interactions with players and coaches.
