John Edgar passed away on Saturday, September 10th in Santa Rosa with family by his side. He is survived by his sons Robert Edgar (Stephanie) and Peter Edgar; grandchildren Matt (Jen), Molly, Maggie, Michael, Thomas (Liz), Justin, and Conner; and his great-grandchildren Arlo, Jordan, Bailey, and Zachary. John was born in San Francisco and grew up on the Peninsula, where he later raised his own children. After serving in the army, he worked for 39 years as a Local 467 union plumber. He spent retirement with his long-time companion, Ali Anderson, between his homes in Tahoe and Bethel Island. He preferred to spend his days by the water and enjoyed traveling, boating, and fishing. Most of all, John cherished his time spent with his grandchildren in Tahoe and the Delta.

He will be remembered by his family and friends for his sense of humor and generosity. He never took himself too seriously and loved to make others laugh. His grandchildren will forever cherish memories of holidays spent with their grandpa, who preferred to sit at the “kids table” and loved to watch his grandchildren open the piles of gifts that he brought them.
