Maria Elena Favenir Arnott, beloved wife, mother, sister, lola, and friend, passed away at City of Hope cancer center in Duarte, California, after an extended illness. (To read the full obituary, please visit tinyurl.com/MariaArnot­t).

Born in Camarines Sur, in the Philippine­s, as a girl she emigrated to the United States with her family and settled in San Francisco. In 1980, she married John Arnott at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in San Francisco. They would enjoy 42 years of marriage, raising two sons, and always supporting each other as equal partners in their life together.

Maria is survived by her husband John; sons David (Jessica) and Paul; granddaugh­ter Salem; brother Roy Favenir (Imelda); sister Genevieve D’Souza (Sebastian); brother Nelson Favenir; and numerous other extended family members and friends she counted as family.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 6, at 4 p.m., with Rosary service at 6 p.m., at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary (500 Westlake Ave., Daly City).

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 7, at 10:30 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (19 St. Mary’s Ave., San Francisco), to be followed by interment at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park (1370 El Camino Real, Colma).
