Patricia Tippett Murphy

Patricia “Pat” Murphy of Hillsborough passed away peacefully on September 30, 2022 at the age of

85. Patricia was born on September 9, 1937 to Frank and Dorothy (nee Higdon) Tippett in Maryland.

After moving to San Francisco, she attended …cole Notre Dame des Victoires, Convent of the Sacred Heart, and USF where she made cherished lifelong friends. In 1961, Pat married Thomas Murphy; they were blessed with 52 years of life, love and friendship, and together they reared three doting children, Shawna Dufeu, Brett (Carrie) Murphy, and Erin (Mark) Macias, and six loving grandchildren, Damian Dufeu, Ariel Macias, Dylan Macias, Zachary Murphy, Ammon Murphy, and Eleanor Murphy. Pat was predeceased by husband Tom, brother Frank Tippett, sister-in-law Kathy Tippett, niece Carol Whittaker, and she is survived by brother Thomas (Barbara) Tippett, sister-in-law Jan Tippett, and a large and adoring extended family.

Pat was a loyal and enduring friend with a kind, generous spirit who will always be remembered for her love of dogs, a passion for gardening, fervor for travel, boundless energy, and her timeless elegance. Donations may be made in her honor to Dr. Thomas L. Higdon Elementary School, 12872 Rock Point Rd., Newburg, MD 20664. A rosary will be held on Thursday, October 13 at 7:00 pm at Crosby and Gray, 2 Park Road, Burlingame. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, October 14 at 10:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church 1310 Bayswater Ave, Burlingame.
