Donna Florence (De Fount) Haberlin

Our precious angel, Donna Florence Haberlin, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2021, at the age of 81, at her home in Mill Valley, California surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She gracefully and bravely endured Lewy Body Dementia in the final years of her life, where she was lovingly and compassion­ately cared for by her children.

Donna was born on July 19, 1940, in San Francisco, California, to Eugene and Edna De Fount. She attended Lincoln High School, San Francisco City College, and then worked for several years as a secretary for the ATF, where occasional­ly she went on missions assisting special agents solve crimes.

On March 19, 1966, she married the love of her life, David Haberlin, whom she was married to for 51 years. Together they had three beautiful children: Heath, Heather, and Heidi.

Affectiona­tely known as “Mama Bear”, Donna cherished spending time with her family and friends, who all loved her sweet, kind, humble nature, and her positive outlook on life. She liked to color coordinate her outfits from head to toe in vibrant colors or holiday themed attire. She deeply enjoyed going out to lunch, reading her morning newspaper, the music of Elvis and the Beatles, San Francisco, movies, classic car shows, antiquing, thrift stores, animals, trips to South Lake Tahoe, Russian River, the color purple, however, her greatest passion of all was playing tennis.

Donna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dave; her parents, Gene and Edna De Fount, and eldest daughter Dawn. She is survived by son Heath, daughters Heather and Heidi, son-in-law Nick Melniczek, and grandsons Casey and Jake. Donna is also survived by a large extended family.

Donna’s Celebratio­n of Life will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 12:00PM - 5:00PM at the Tam Valley Community Center at 203 Marin Avenue, Mill Valley, CA 94941.

Although her legacy will live on, as part of her is in all of us, she will forever be missed…
