Anthony (Tony) Patrick Farley, 85 of San Francisco / Clayton passed away on October 6, 2022, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s and Diabetes.

Tony was born on June 12, 1937, to James Vincent & Marie Claire (Moitoret) Farley in San Francisco. After graduating from Saint Ignatius (1955), Tony went on to graduate from University of San Francisco with a business degree.

After graduation, Tony landed his first job in the insurance industry with the Royal Globe and went on to have a lifelong career in the insurance business, retiring in 2007. Tony took an interest in numerous industry associations as well as the Clayton Business & Community Association. Tony’s legacy of giving back to the community in which he worked and lived, continues on through the family.

In 1959 Tony met Diane Clecak and they wed in San Francisco in 1962. Tony and Diane raised 3 loving children Mike Farley (Marvin, NC), Rich Farley (Clayton, CA) and Anne Branch (Sunnyvale, CA)

Tony was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family while ensuring his fun-loving spirit was spread throughout all his adventures. Those adventures included camping trips, boating at Lake Oroville, skiing in Tahoe, many of which were shared with the beloved “Bridge Club.” Tony’s passion for hiking Yosemite and the Bay Area mountains was shared with Diane as well as friends and family. Tony’s enthusiasm for his cars did not slip by anyone who ever met him. Starting with his high school “Sticks” Car Club thru his last Camaro Z-28 in 1989. Tony loved his time on the tennis courts, running down every ball at Valley Vista Tennis club. When not on the tennis courts, Tony was an avid numismatist & philatelist.

Those who knew Tony knew that he was the most enthusiastic husband and father one could ask for. Family meant the most to Tony, including his nieces and nephews in the Farley and Kmak families. Tony was predeceased by his father (James Vincent Farley), mother (Marie Claire Moitoret/ Farley), brother (Vincent Farley), sisters (Joan Farley & Barbara Kmak). Tony is survived by his loving wife Diane, his children Mike (Liz) Farley, Rich (Melissa) Farley and Anne (Mike) Branch. Tony was highly active with his 7 grandchildren: Hannah Farley, Shannon Farley, Mia Farley (Marvin, NC), Claire Farley, Katie Farley (Clayton, CA), Kevin Branch, and Sarah Branch (Sunnyvale, CA)

Tony will be buried in Holy Cross cemetery in Colma, CA following a private memorial mass for the family. In lieu of flowers the family would encourage contributions in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association and the Homeless Prenatal Program (San Francisco).
