Tacos El Güero
Tacos al vapor — featuring beef head and tortillas cooked and maintained with steam — are one of the most common styles of tacos in Jalisco, Mexico. And Tacos El Guero brings a piece of Tepatitlan, a city in Jalisco, directly to San Jose. Brother and sister Enrique and Vanessa Huerta took over the operation after their uncle went into retirement at the start of the pandemic. The food truck offers some more unusual fillings for tacos ($3.50) like carnaza, which is shredded beef, and ojo, chopped cow eyes mixed with the surrounding nerve-filled flesh. The lonchera parks on an ample dirt lot so there are plenty of tables, all of which are covered with canopies to prevent an unwanted sunburn.
