Louis Bryan

Louis Henry Bryan Jr., died unexpectedly in San Francisco, California.
He was born in Longview, Texas. His parents, Louis Henry Bryan and Kathryn Lamerle Yarbrough Bryan, predeceased him. He is survived by a sister, Rebecca Kinzer of Denver, Colorado, and a nephew, Howard Andrew Kinzer III of Castle Rock, Colorado.
He had a BA in English/ French and an MA in English/Linguistics. He was a First Lieutenant in the Army Security Agency. He taught at Midland College in Texas, Chabot College in Hayward, California, and City College of San Francisco, California. He was a Technical Writer for Quantel Systems, Bayard Systems, and Oracle Corp.
Louis was a linguistics expert who was fluent in French and Dutch.
After retirement he created the Matte Gray website where he frequently posted his exploits in great detail, including fabulous photos of the city he loved so much.
Louis had a strong personality and was a force of nature. He was loved and adored by those who knew him, and will be greatly missed. Along with this exceptional intellect, he had a most generous heart.
There will be a celebration of life ceremony from noon to 2pm, November 27 at Coleridge Park Homes, 190 Coleridge St., San Francisco, California.
