SUNDAY’S GAME

- — Eric Branch

Who: New Orleans (4-7) at 49ers (6-4)

When: 1:25 p.m.

TV: 2t

Radio: 104.5, 680, 107.7

Spotlight on CB Charvarius Ward: The lockdown corner overcame a rugged start and the effects of high altitude to quiet All-Pro wideout DeAndre Hopkins in the romp over the Cardinals in Mexico City on Monday night. Hopkins (nine catches, 92 yards) had just two catches for 15 yards in the final 35 minutes. On Sunday, Ward figures to see plenty of rookie wideout Chris Olave, the No. 11 pick who leads the Saints in receptions (51) and receiving yards (760). Olave is New Orleans’ only wide receiver with more than 21 catches or 264 yards.

Injury notes: 49ers — DT Arik Armstead (foot, ankle) is doubtful; WR Deebo Samuel (hamstring) is questionable. Saints — DE Marcus Davenport (calf), RB Mark Ingram (knee), DE Cameron Jordan (eye), RB Alvin Kamara (illness), CB Marshon Lattimore (abdomen), G Andrus Peat (triceps) are questionable.

QB Jimmy Garoppolo hasn’t thrown an interception in his past 100 attempts, a span of three-plus starts. The 49ers are 14-0 in Garoppolo’s past 14 starts in which he hasn’t thrown a pick.

The Saints have two interceptions, the fewest in the NFL. Free safety Tyrann Mathieu has their only picks.

New Orleans’ Taysom Hill, a hybrid offensive player, is averaging 7.6 yards per carry (52 attempts) and has a 115.9 passer rating (13 attempts). Hill also has four catches for 24 yards and a touchdown.
