Rita M. Brennan-Leitner, born in San Francisco on February 14th (Valentine’s Day) 1933, passed peacefully on Nov. 1, 2022 (All Saints’ Day). Our Saint Rita is survived by her 7 children (preceded by her son Joseph), 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren & countless friends. She was a proud San Franciscan of Irish decent and a die-hard Giants fan. Rita graduated from Notre Dame Belmont & De Anza College and later became a Writer, publishing several poems and short stories. With us forever are all the lessons she taught us * live, love, laugh every day and be a positive force for good in this world. Rita was a dedicated community servant, demonstrated by her decades of volunteer work with Project Food Match and multiple organizations throughout the Bay Area. She will be missed, thankfully her legacy will carry on. Those lucky enough to have met “Senior Rita” will never forget her.

A Celebration of Life will follow Mass at St. Francis Cabrini Church @ 15325 Woodard Rd., San Jose 95124 on December 10th at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude’s Ranch, NV (https://stjudesranch.org) or take action to help the homeless or feed the needy in your area.
