Paul Bacigalupi

October 31, 1937 - November 23, 2022

-

Paul Bacigalupi, 85 of San Francisco entered the loving arms of Jesus on 11/23/22. He was born 10/31/1937 to Victor and Dorothy Bacigalupi.

He is preceded in death by his mother (Dorothy), father (Victor) and his brother (Victor Bacigalupi II) and survived by his niece (Karen Ravetti), nephew (Victor Bacigalupi III) and great uncle to Danielle and Dominic Ravetti.

Paul was educated at St James Grammar School and Riordan High School. His college studies were at USF and graduated with a BA degree in English (1959). After his service in the Air Force Reserves in 1965, Paul continued his Teaching Credential Program at San Francisco State.

Paul taught at Edison Elementary School and Alvarado Elementary School for a combined total of 25 years. Paul was an avid writer. His weekly columns and film reviews for the USF Foghorn paper were both educational and entertaining.

Paul had a long relationship with the Roman Catholic Church. His daily attendance was common at St. Ignatius serving as a Eucharistic Minister.

We will all miss his infectious laugh, his constant questioning, his generosity, and his humility. He had the natural charisma to make friends to all who met him. He would listen to your story with sincere interest.

Paul was the epidemy of, “Do good, then disappear”. He was a selfless man whose passing will leave an unfillable gap in the hearts of all who adored him. His love was unconditional, and his generosity was abundant.

Besides his family, friends, fellow parishioners, and neighbors, he will also be missed by the homeless who benefited by his generosity. There was always an extra bag of food and sandwiches readily for delivery. Paul was proud about his greatest possession: “A true relationship with Jesus”.

A Catholic Service will be held at Saint Ignatius Church at 650 Parker Ave., San Francisco, on Friday, December 09 at 11:00 AM. A reception in Paul’s honor will take place immediately following service at seperate location.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Anthony’s Dining Room.
