Eleanor Luna
April 11, 1943 - December 14, 2022
Eleanor Maria Luna, 79, passed away on December 14, 2022, after a long and bravely fought battle with cancer.
Eleanor was born on April 11, 1943, in Zacatecas, Mexico.
Eleanor was predeceased by her father, Ramon, Sr., brothers, Rosendo, Raul, Ramon, Jr., and her sister, Grace. Eleanor is survived by her devoted daughters, Eleanor and Erika, her loving mother, Amalia, Sr., her cherished siblings, Esperanza, Gustavo, Amalia, Jr., Julia, Lupe, Alfredo, and their respective families. Her adoring son-in-law, Shane, and treasured grand children, Gabriel and Ciara. As well as an uncle and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, extended family and friends.
Eleanor grew up in the SF Bay Area, and graduated from Mission High School in 1961. In 1964 she married Parley Jack Pickford (19382022), and together they shared two daughters.
Eleanor was fiercely independent with strong values and stronger opinions. She valued sincerity and commitment and never promised what she couldn’t deliver.
Eleanor loved laughter and adventure, she enjoyed traveling and trips to the casinos. When at home, Eleanor doted on her grand children and her garden. She was an exceptional seamstress, jewelry maker and cook. She could also make a mean margarita!
Eleanor’s wisdom, wit and sometimes sharp tongue left an impression on all who knew her. At the time of her passing, Eleanor was in her home, cared for by family and surrounded by love. Our hearts will forever be broken. She will never be forgotten.
At her request, there will be no funeral. A private celebration of life will be held in her honor.
