Robert Bruce Doyle October 5, 1937 – December 11, 2022
Born in San Francisco’s Richmond District, with Golden Gate Park as his backyard, Bob graduated from Star of the Sea Grammar School and Riordan High School. He was an avid sailor, earning his Quartermaster’s rank in Sea Scouts, sailing throughout the Bay and Delta. After two years in the Army, he became an inside wireman electrician via apprenticeship with IBEW Local 6 in San Francisco. A staunch union man, he proudly served 40 years with his brothers and sisters at Electricians Local 6, wiring high rises and buildings in the city, and with Local 510 Sign and Display lighting trade shows at the Moscone Center.
A resident of Terra Linda of almost 60 years, he loved sailing and boating of any kind, fishing, and motorcycling. He was a great mentor, a helping hand to those in need, but especially enjoyed cracking a good joke and laughing at yours. He kept his good sense of humor until the end, passing peacefully at home with family by his side.
Bob is predeceased by his parents Andrew W. Doyle and Helen Bruce Doyle, brothers Andrew, Tommy, and Steve. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Lucille Rulli, sons Robert Jr., Gary Rulli (Jeannie), Lauren Kerins (Johnny), sister-in-law Bobbie, niece Laura Brazil (Rich), cherished grandsons Giancarlo and Alessandro Rulli, Uncle Joe Bruce (Mary) and many cousins and friends. A special thanks to Kenny Hallett, hospice nurse Copeland, Kaiser Drs. R. Brow and C. Nyland. A gathering for friends and family will be scheduled for early Spring. He will be missed and remembered in our hearts forever.
