January 28, 1938 - December 2, 2022
Jeannie passed away on December 2, 2022. She was born on January 28, 1938, in Croydon, England. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Edith Morris and her sister, Joy. Jeannie is survived by her husband, Michael, sons, Gary and Steven and grandsons, Logan and Noah. She is also survived by her nieces in England, Vicky and Kay. After high school graduation and majoring in languages, Jeannie worked in the travel business in London for BOAC. While worked there she was able to travel the world, experiencing different cultures and traditions. She then worked as a VIP attendant for Japanese Airlines. Some of her VIP’s in the mid 1960’s included Sean Connery, Ian Fleming and the Beatles. Jeannie grew to love Japan and Japanese culture; flying there some 20-25 times. She came to America in 1967 and continued work in the travel business. Jeannie and her family loved Hawaii and vacationed there many times. Besides her family, Jeannie’s main passion became knitting. Rekindling a skill she learned as a child from her mother. Jeannie used her expert skill to start a small business in Marin County. Everything she did was hand-knit with the best yarns, sweaters, shawls and her signature blankets. Jeannie did projects for Vogue Knitting Magazine. They would mail her the yarn and instructions and she would return a beautifully hand-knit sweater. She even hand-knitted all of the dresses worn at her wedding. Jeannie taught classes locally as well and helped repair knitting projects that needed completion. Jeannie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and had a wonderful smile and a vibrant personality. She will be greatly missed by her extended family and friends. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Oakmont of Folsom Assisted Living Facility where Jeannie resided the last six months. She received wonderful care and assistance from them and from Bristol Hospice of Folsom who visited regularly. A Memorial Service will be held at Monte’s Chapel of the Hills, 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2023. A gift of remembrance may be directed to St. Vincent de Paul Society of Marin.
