Randall Arimoto
April 25, 1954 - January 27, 2023
Randall Keiichi Arimoto, a long time resident of Hillsborough, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2023 surrounded by his loving family after a week-long battle to survive postcardiac arrest.
Randy was born on April 25, 1954 in Tokyo, Japan where he developed an early love of Japanese food and American westerns. He moved to Dallas, Texas as a teenager where he met the love of his life - the Dallas Cowboys. He and the Cowboys proceeded to have a rocky but deeply committed relationship for 50 years.
Ever loyal, Randy followed his parents to the Bay Area where he graduated from San Francisco State University as valedictorian with a BS in Business Administration. After working for the IRS as an auditor, he pursued the second love of his life - a career as a tax accountant.
Randy’s CPA career took him back to Tokyo where he worked for Arthur Andersen & Co. There, he met the third and final love of his life - his wife, Yoko. After countless laughs together, they married and moved back to the Bay Area, where he opened his own accounting firm.
Randy was the proud father of three children: Jenny, Deanne, and Brent. He was a doting father who attended every water polo game, football championship, and piano recital, no matter the time or day. Randy’s quick wit and contagious giggle won over other parents, while his penchant for bringing elaborate snacks to his childrens’ sports games won over the kids. When you look up “lovable” in the dictionary, you will find a picture of Randy.
Randy is preceded in death by his father, Kiyoshi, and his mother, Ann. He is survived by his wife, Yoko, and children, Jenny, Deanne, and Brent, and sister, Connie. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
