Francis “Frank” Noel Kenny

December 28, 1954 - March 3, 2023

Frank passed away suddenly at his home in Nevada City, CA, following cardiac arrest on March 3, 2023. Deeply regretted by his wife Lisa and her daughter Shayna, his brother Denis Kenny, sisters Ina, Joan, Carmel and Dympna, brothers-in-law John Petty, David Burke and Keith Jones, sisters-in-law Anne (Pat Kenny) and Ann (Denis), mother-in-law Mari, nieces, nephews, cousins (including Al, Geri, Kathy, Diane, Denis Kenny and Kevin O’Connor of San Francisco) and a wide circle of friends. Frank is predeceased by his parents Frank and Delia, sister Peggy Judge, brother Pat Kenny and brother-in-law Liam Judge.

Frank was born in Cordarra, Headford, Co. Galway, Ireland on December 28, 1954, to Frank and Delia Kenny. He moved to San Francisco in 1982 where he and Marty Ryan founded Ryan Engineering, Inc. He appreciated and embraced every aspect of Californian life and thought San Francisco was the most perfect place on earth. Frank’s generosity was legendary as he played host to family and friends visiting from Ireland. Having spent many years in Sausalito, gradually he moved his life to Nevada City where he met and later married Lisa.

Frank’s interests included classic cars, sports particularly, golf, 49ers, Liverpool FC and of course all Galway GAA; music of all genres and landscaping. He loved animals, especially his dogs. Frank had a keen sense of humour and would always see humour in any situation. Frank’s funeral has taken place in Nevada City. A celebration of Frank’s life will take place at 12 noon on March 29, 2023 at The Basque Cultural Center in San Francisco.
