Gwyn Dilday passed away on April 30, 2023 at the age of 60. She was born in San Diego, CA, daughter to Alice Johnson (deceased) and Lacy Dilday.

A dedicated mother and teacher, Gwyn’s kindness, love of her daughter, family and students, and her willingness to support all for us through any and all challenges highlight her many achievements as a beautiful soul and human being. Gwyn freely gave her love, strength, resourcefulness and humor! She was a very funny person whose ready laugh will echo forever in our hearts no matter the years that pass. Thankfully she found Woodland, which is the crown jewel of her career and the home she finally found to allow her talents to shine unfettered. Woodland leadership, students and parents of this beloved community supported Gwyn throughout her illness, and our family cannot thank you enough. There are simply no words.

Prior to her teaching career, Gwyn was active in the Junior League and served as president of the Los Angeles Chapter. She loved the Junior League and could throw a party like no other - she was elegant, brilliant, professional and one of a kind... We are so proud of all she accomplished and the bonds forged during that time remain ever strong! Her very close network of UCLA friends and family have been a bedrock of strength, both for Gwyn and for her family. These are the bonds that will remain forever in her memory.

Gwynnie, as her family like to remember her by, is survived by her daughter Johanna and Johanna’s father Scott, Sharon and Jerry Christopher; Desiree, Ron, Casey and Trent Seager. Irving Johnson remains her beloved father and friend whose guidance and love afforded both Gwyn and Johanna so much comfort, humor and strength through the years.

Thank you Gwyn, for being a tower of strength, for your devotion to students, family and friends. Your courage is an inspiration to all of us, God speed!

A Celebration of Life will be held in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Johanna’s future educational expenses through this Go Fund Me - https:// gofund.me/849afa30.
