There is no shortage of local places to spend quality time with family for Mother’s Day. Here is The Chronicle’s guide to the best outings and events for mothers and their others to enjoy:

Brahms for Moms with the S.F. Symphony

A Sunday afternoon chamber music concert with Symphony musicians will feature Brahms’ “String Quartet Opus 51, No. 1,” with violinists Florin Parvulescu, Dan Carlson, Gina Cooper and cellist Rainer Eudeikis.

Berkeley Potters Guild Annual Seconds Sale and Open Studios

Take Mom out to the Ball Game: Oakland A’s vs. Texas Rangers

The A’s days in Oakland may be coming to an end, so this is a great time to bring moms who love the team out for a game at the Oakland Coliseum. Luck has it that they will be playing at home each afternoon of the holiday weekend versus the Texas Rangers.

The Dynamic Miss Faye Carol and Jazz Drum Legends

The venerable jazz center marks Mother’s Day weekend with two quartet performanc­es in the intimate Henderson Lab space.
