Robert “Bob” Lee Sandoval, 73, passed away on Saturday, April 15 th , 2023.

Robert Lee Sandoval was born the middle sibling of three in 1949, to Ike and Pauline Sandoval in Colorado. As a young child Robert’s family moved to Potrero Hill in San Francisco, California in 1958. In 1967 Robert graduated from Mission High School. Robert had the same core group of friends all throughout elementary school, middle school, and high school. Anyone who met him, loved him right away, he was born with a magnet of a personality. During his youth, his friends and family called him “Bobby”. He was a proud brother who loved his little sister Barbara and looked up to his older brother, Joseph (Butch). The three of them had a very close relationship. His Mother Pauline was a loving mother and his father Ike, had a sense of humor and a lust for life like no other. Robert knew the value of a strong family foundation and he felt lucky to have so much love in his life.

In 1973 Robert met the love of his life, Nancy, they married on March 5 th , 1983, surrounded by friends and family. In 1984 Robert and Nancy had their first and only child, Bobby Jr. They later divorced when Bobby was in Elementary school, but they shared the same family value system and by putting their son first, they embraced a new relationship that grew into becoming best friends, and because of that, Bobby Jr had the best of both worlds, despite growing up with divorced parents. They remained best friends until the last day of Roberts’ life.

Robert had 30+ years with AT&T in telecommunications software and in 2003 he became one of the original founding members and the Assistant Production Manager for Latin Rock, Inc. in San Francisco. Robert had the natural ability of bringing people together, his smile was contagious, and you just felt accepted to be yourself when you were in the presence of Robert Sandoval. He loved people, he loved to travel, and he was well versed and could talk about any topic with humor.

Robert’s foundation was his son Bobby Jr., being a father was the most important thing he ever did in his life. Their Father and Son bond was unbreakable, they were best friends, and setting that example is why Bobby Jr. is the man he is today.

Robert is survived by his best friend and son Bobby Jr., Nancy, his dog Pepe, and he is loved and missed by many of his nieces and nephews.
