George passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 15th at the age of 94. He was the son of Mary (O’Neill) and George Riley. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in San Francisco, Class of 1947. He received an AA business degree from The College of San Mateo.

George married the love of his life, Rose Mozian, in 1950 and they were married for 72 years until her passing in 2022 in San Mateo where they lived.

A native San Franciscan, George served in the Korean War 1952-54. George worked the majority of his career as a Circulation Manager for the ICP Group of newspapers and the San Francisco Chronicle. In retirement he and Rose owned and worked together at El Camino Animal Grooming in Palo Alto.

He will be remembered for his generosity, smile and kindness. Also for his stories, his incredible memory with names and faces and his love of talking with people to find out about their story. He leaves behind a lifetime of love and his surviving family--his son, Dan Riley and cherished granddaughters Lauren Eliza and Candice Lynn Riley and a host of family all who will miss him.

A Funeral Service celebrating his life will be at St. John the Armenian Apostolic Church, 275 Olympia Way in San Francisco on Wednesday, May 24th at 10:30am, where he and Rose were very involved. He will laid to rest next to Rose at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Colma.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in George’s memory to: Western Diocese Armenian Church Camp, Board Treasurer, 20555 Devonshire Street, no. 371, Chatsworth, CA 91311 or online at https://hyesierra.wordpress. com/
