Richard Thomas Facciola “Rich”

Rich was born to the late Hector and Mary Facciola in San Francisco, Rich passed away after a lengthy illness. He was proud of his Italian Heritage and of the City where he grew up. Rich attended St. Emydius Grammar School, Riordan High School and City College. He also served in the Army reserve. Rich was a kind hearted man who adored his children and loved his grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren. Rich will be remembered fondly by all family members as a story teller, fun loving, kind, generous and caring individual. Rich was a member of the Butcher’s Union Local 8, 1966-1991 He had worked for his Father at Facciola Meats until he went on his own. Rich belonged to the Native Sons, Sons and Daughters of Italy, Italian American Club, St Leo’s Bocce and Sonoma Bocce. He was on the board of the Vintage Festival, he was always there when needed. Rich was a devoted father to, Cynthia (Steve) Markwith, Rachelle (Mike) Ragsdale, David Facciola dearly beloved longtime companion Linda Shockey, Loving Papa to Ryan, Nicole (Tim), Stephanie, Jonathan, Dylan, Matthew, Terra and Alex.

Great Grand Children Nicholas and Scotland Rich, Rich is also survived by his daughter-in-law Atsuko Facciola and by many nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his wife Sylvia Facciola and son Richard “Richie” Facciola. A Celebratio­n of Life will be held at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, 601 Aqua Caliente Road, Sonoma at 11:00 am on Friday July 14th 2023. Private entombment will held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma.
