Leonard R. Moreci, lovingly known as Lenny, was born on August 12, 1958, and peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023. A proud native of San Francisco, Lenny grew up on Pixley Alley in Cow Hollow and graduated from Galileo High School in the Class of ‘76. He studied Business Administration at Skyline College before starting his own successful business ventures. Lenny brought his artistic touch to the east end of Long Island where his company Moreci Painting & Renovating thrived for 28 years in Montauk, NY.

Lenny’s zest for life in the city poured out through his deep-rooted affection for the SF 49ers, the Giants, & the Warriors. Lenny was a unique individual who left an indelible mark on all those he encountered from the West to East Coasts. He was fully formed as an empathetic human being, having a magic touch that made you feel safe and secure to be yourself. Lenny was very well known for his warm smile, quick wit, kind and courageous heart. He loved his family, friends, delicious food, and good music, and it was impossible to keep him away from the dance floor. It wouldn’t be long before he pulled out his favorite moves & someone was getting dipped by the Dancin’ Lion.

Lenny was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Vince and Irene Moreci of San Francisco. He is survived by his former wife, Martha, and his cherished daughter, Melissa Peña. Additionally, he leaves behind his brothers and their families: Steve (Angela), Nick, Lauren (Kenton) Collins, great nieces, Camilla and Quinn (who loved their uncle ‘Lemmy’ dearly); Vince (Josette), Filomina, and Marcello; and Greg (Lisa), Dante, Leana (Greg), Marina, and great nephew, Hudson. Lenny will also be deeply missed by his aunt Patricia (Victor) Poli, Jonathan, Jessica (Steve) Marsili, Catherine, numerous relatives, and dear friends.

Lenny’s genuine spirit and remarkable talents will forever be treasured and celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Green Street Mortuary, located at 649 Green St, San Francisco, CA 94133.
