Virginia Nevin Radanovich

July 11, 1940 - December 2, 2023

-

In loving memory of Virginia Nevin Radanovich (1940-2023), who passed on December 2, 2023 - a celebration of life will be honored by her children, Jeanne (Ernie Criez) Criez, Bo (Laurie), Michael (Heather), David (Marty), Mary, and Desi (deceased). The eldest daughter of the late Edward and Mazie Nevin, she led six siblings, together with her adored grandparents, as she forged enduring bonds and shared a compassionate spirit with all whom she cared for.

Her love for learning began at Saint Anne’s Elementary School and Mercy High School in San Francisco. “Ginny” proudly began her nursing studies at the top of Lone Mountain, USF, and it was there that she found her greatest love, Bob Radanovich (married for 60 years). This team of two shared an incredible lifelong love and dedication to one another. Her career then took her to support her siblings in law offices and on campaign trails and later dedicated years at St. Ignatius’s Athletic Department.

Settling into their new home, and favorite garden, in Danville, Ginny decided to return to school to fulfill her calling and following in her mother’s footsteps, she became a nurse. Her compassion extended beyond John Muir and family, touching countless lives with her care and warmth. Ginny found joy in singing and expressed her love with her intricate handmade blankets that became keepsakes. She was an avid gardener and had an amazing green thumb - she had a real knack for life in all areas.

Ginny and Bob were not only proud parents of six children, but also enjoyed fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. They were the happiest and shared their proudest moments with their beloved family and little ones, Amie Chase (Jonathan, daughter Blair), Alexandra, Erika, Chelsea (Zachary), Chloe, Colin, Jake, Nick, Joe, Alex, Jack, Mickey, JT, and Haley.

As we bid farewell to Ginny Rad - and a well-lived life filled with kindness, dedication, and the enduring love she shared with family and friends - may her legacy of compassion and creativity continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. The Radanovich family would like to specifically extend a heartfelt thank you to Patti Baird and all the caretakers at Tiffany Court (of Walnut Creek). Your hours of dedication and warm embrace of our parents is greatly appreciated.

A day of remembrance will be hosted in Danville on Friday, December 22 at 11 a.m. Please reach out to the family for further details; all are welcome.
