Kathleen Wrinkle

Kathleen Kimbrell Wrinkle passed away in Bountiful, Utah, on January 4, 2024, at the age of 77. Her son, Michael and cousin, Chloan W. were by her side for many days.

Kathy was born in Logan, Utah, 14 June 1946 and was an only child to Donald Lewis Kimbrell and Lavonne Cook Kimbrell.

As a child, Kathy and her parents frequently moved to various army bases as her father was a United States Army Master Sergeant. She graduated from Lawton High School in Lawton, OK, 1964. When her father retired, the family settled in Livermore, CA where she began her working career at Sandia National Laboratories in 1969. By 1971 she moved to Mountainview, CA where she met her first husband, Joe Ernest Bails, and married in 1972. She had her only child, Michael Lewis Bails, in 1976. Kathy and her new family moved frequently including Garland, Tx, Mesa and then to Tempe, AZ. In 1985, Kathy and Michael moved back to Livermore where she worked in Human Resources for Physics International and Olin Corp, then onto Affirmative Action for DHL where she would end her career. Kathy married her second husband, Robert Scott Wrinkle, a Tax and Estate Attorney, February

1997 and relocated to Burlingame and San Mateo, CA.

Kathy and Robert were fortunate enough to frequently travel internationally until his death. She also loved to host dinners for family and friends and adored her two grandchildren, Harriet and Edward Lewis. Christmas was Kathy’s favorite season and she enjoyed decorating with her mother, Lavonne, and son, Michael.

Kathy is survived by her son, Michael Lewis; his wife Lucy Lewis; and her grandchildren, Harriet and Edward Lewis. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Scott Wrinkle Esq. of San Mateo, CA, and her first husband, Joe Ernest Bails of Hot Springs, SD.

She will be laid to rest at Memory Gardens Cemetery, on East Ave. in Livermore, CA where she will be with her husband and near her father and mother.
