Mark Charles Salyer (1946-2024) passed away peacefully on February 25, 2024, at the age of 77 in Peoria, Ariz., surrounded by his family and friends. Mark was born on August 18, 1946, in San Francisco, Calif., to the late Charles and Marcheta Salyer. He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” of Sun City West, Ariz.; son, Matthew St. Germain of San Diego, Calif.; and daughters, Cindi Lou Tompkins (Donald) of Blanchard, Idaho, Jo Beth Saiz (Lorenzo) of Clovis, N.M., Jennifer Salyer-Vargas of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Suzette Salyer (Toni) of Topock, Ariz. He is also survived by eight grandchild­ren and three great-grandchild­ren; his sister, Melanie Salyer of Cabo San Lucas; his brother, Matthew Salyer of Pollock Pines, Calif.; and his brother-in-law, George Magill (Miriam) of Sebastian, Fla. He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Marilynn Guidi (Angelo). Mark was raised in San Francisco and attended Lincoln High School. After high school he joined the Army, soon thereafter transferri­ng over to the Air Force and is a 20+ year retired veteran including a tour in Vietnam. After retiring from the Air Force, in 1990 Mark met the love of his life, Pat where they began their love affair and were getting ready to celebrate 31 years of marriage on March 13, 2024. Mark worked for a large property management firm in Palo Alto, Calif., for several years then held a Sr. Vice President position with a multi-million-dollar property management firm in San Diego, Calif., until he retired in 2007. Services will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery Downtown, 2615 21st Street, Sacramento, Calif., 95818 on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 12:00 noon.
