“Heaven has Gained an Angel”

It is with great sadness that we announce Charles Hansel Robles, age 89, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 23, 2024, in Concord, Calif.

Son of Marquita and Reny “Bulldog” Robles. Hansel was born on March 20, 1935, in San Francisco, Calif. He was a sibling to nine brothers and sisters: Jeannie, Alfred, Shirley, Ramie, Russell, Jimmy, Ray, Anthony and Drewsell. Hansel was married to his beloved wife, Betty Lou Brainard, for 68 years. They joined hands in marriage on February 24, 1956; fondly known as, “Hansel and Betty”. They had two amazing daughters, Diana and Linda. Hansel and Betty have five grandchildren, Kimberlee, Jay, Linda, Brigette and Sarita. Hansel was a proud great-grandpa to Deanna, Savannah, Amanda, Jack, Aurora, Andrew, Alisia, Salma, Rosana, Jonah and LaReina; and two greatgreat-grandchildren, Kyla and Kallie.

Hansel was a devoted husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and dear friend. He was a loving husband to his wife, Betty, through sickness and health. His main priority in life, as it is in death, is his wife. As he succumbed to his illness, his dying wish was to ensure Betty was taken care of as he followed his path to Heaven. Hansel was a selfless family man through and through. He was a proud, honorable, loving, and loyal individual. He will always be held in high regard for those who came to know him.

Hansel’s sense of humor was always followed by lots of laughter. Hansel was a fun-loving social butterfly when he wanted to be. He was either a sharp-dressed man or could be found in his favorite sweatpants and a tank top. Hansel was a lover of classic movies and music, such as the classic from the “Rat Pack.” He also loved his sports and betting on the ponies. When Hansel retired, he loved to tinker in his garage, go to flea markets, garage sales and spend quality time with his wife, family, friends and an occasional card room. He was always giving away trinkets he picked up on his excursions to anyone who came for a visit. He loved to travel with Betty to various destinations, including Las Vegas, in his younger days.

His presence will truly be missed.

“Don’t cry for me, for

I am not alone. I am in Heaven now with loved ones, who welcomed me to my heavenly home.”
