It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of beloved Father, Grandfather, & Great-grandfather.

Bob was born in San Francisco to Americo & Velia Giannini. He was the youngest of 4 children. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Enzo, Vasco, and Rita (Polizziani).

He loved growing up in the Excelsior and attended Balboa High School. He was proud to be Senior class President.

After High School, Bob went to work for Cresta Bros. Auto Parts, starting as a stock boy, eventually working up to counterman, then outside sales. While working for Cresta Bros., he met the love of his life, Jeanne Cresta. They were married for 63 years until her passing in 2012. He later became partners with his Brother-in-law, Jerry Cresta to buy the South San Francisco Cresta Bros. Store. Bob & Jeanne began their life together in Daly City, where they started their family with Diane (1950), & Ken (1952). They then moved to San Bruno and added to their family with Tom (1956) & John (1968). In Retirement they moved to Kenwood.

Wherever they lived the home was filled with love, music, fun, friends, and laughter. Bob enjoyed making people laugh and belting out a song or two to entertain friends and onlookers alike. He definitely was “Mr. Entertainment.”

He was a big fan of the SF 49ers, attending games from the beginning in 1946 at Kezar Stadium and following them when they moved to Candlestick Park. Where He and Friends had many a tailgate party.

He was a member of the Italian American Social Club in San Francisco. Bob was proud of his Italian Heritage and spoke the language fluently.

He was one of the 12 founding members of the Brick. A group of Friends with ties that go back 70 years. He loved spending summers at the Cresta Ranch: Horseback riding, lounging by the pool and serving drinks and barbequing at the “Moonshine Bar.” He absolutely loved his Kenwood home where it was more of the same: family, friends, parties, amazing sunsets, and wine. Bob loved his “vino.” Living in the Wine Country was paradise for him. While there he befriended many people in the wine business from owners to tasting room employees to people who worked in the field. He was a regular presence at Kenwood and Saint Francis Wineries. He also became a member of the Kenwood Yacht Club and the Fulton 500.

Bob touched the lives of so many, it is impossible to count. No one was a stranger to him. He loved to laugh and more importantly make others laugh.

And most of all, like Frank, He did it His Way.

Bob is survived by daughter Diane (Dave), Sons: Ken (Angie), Tom, John (Summer), Grandchildren, Great grandchildren, Nieces, Nephew, and Sister-in-Law, Deanna Cresta

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bob may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, St. Jude, or a charity of your choosing.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at11:00 am at Ellington Hall,3535 Industrial Dr, Santa Rosa, CA.
