Carla passed peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco, California where both of her sons were born. Carla was born in the Philippines and moved to the United States after graduating from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila in 1970. She lived the remainder of her life in San Francisco. Carla was a Nurse for over 40 Years – Working at Seton, and finishing her career at Kaiser. After retirement, she spent time traveling the world with her beloved husband, Michael Peterson Recacho. After the passing of Michael, she was blessed to be surrounded by her friends and family, especially her classmates from UST. In June of 2013, Carla became “Meme” and took on the role of Grandma which brought her joy and the “cherry on top” of her remaining years. We will celebrate Carla’s Funeral Mass at the church where she and Michael wed, and later on in life spent many years as a dedicated docent with the love of the Blessed Mother in her heart. Carla was preceded in death by her mother and father, Carmen Suarez and Cipriano Rivera. She is survived by her two sons - M.Jason Recacho and Justin M. Recacho, and daughters-in-law - Jennifer Wong and Alison McBride. Her four grandchildren – Madeleine Recacho, Margaux Recacho, Michael Recacho and Robert Recacho. She is also survived by two sisters, two brothers, and numerous friends she had made along her journey.
