Jimenez takes share of lead

-

Miguel Angel Jimenez of Spain shot a 2-under 68 to share the thirdround lead with New Zealand’s Michael Campbell at the Hong Kong Open on Saturday.

Campbell, looking for his first win in seven years, made a 15-foot par putt on the last hole to complete a round of 69 that put him at 10-under 200. Jimenez is trying to win the event for a third time in nine years.

“I wouldn’t say I played well today, as it was a bit scrappy and really pretty average, but then I managed to grind out a score, and that’s important when you are not playing all that well,” Campbell said.

Campbell, ranked 339th, has won 15 career titles but none since the 2005 HSBC World Match Play Championship in England. Titleholders: U.S. Women’s Open champion Na Yeon Choi was steady after an early three-putt bogey and finished with a 3-under 69 that gave her a oneshot lead in the LPGA Tour event in Naples, Fla. Choi took the lead when Ai Miyazato made double bogey on the par-5 second hole. Pebble Beach Invitational: Robert Streb shot a 3-under 69 in rainy conditions at Del Monte to take a one-stroke lead over Billy Horschel in a tournament that features PGA, LPGA, Champions and Web.com tour players. Elsewhere: Henrik Stenson of Sweden closed in on a first European Tour win in three years, taking a three-shot lead into the final round of the South African Open despite George Coetzee’s course-record 63 at Johannesburg. … Defending champion Ian Poulter shot an 8-underpar 64 to take a onestroke lead over Adam Scott after three rounds of the Australian Masters in Melbourne.
