Jerome H. Jackson

Feb. 15, 1919-Nov. 13, 2012

-

Passed away peacefully at his home in San Francisco, at the age of 93. Born in Harrison County, Marshall, North East Texas, he graduated from Central (Pemberton) High School in 1943. Immediately after graduating from high school he was inducted into the United States Army. Honorably discharged in 1946, he relocated to San Francisco, where he was employed with US Naval Shipyard in construction, and was also an auto detailer at Boas Pontiac. He was very talented as an auto mechanic and shared that talent with his family and friends whenever needed. Wanting a better life for his mother, in the late ‘ 40s, Jerome returned to Texas to bring his mother to live with his wife and himself. He and his late wife Lorraine were a loving couple and generous in sharing to the needy and to non-profit organizations. Having no children of his own, he was generous, caring and encouraging to his nieces and nephews. He was a caring member of Third Baptist Church. He had an appreciation for the finer things in life. When purchasing items, if it wasn’t high quality, he didn’t want it. But, he knew that the finest things in life were God, his family and his friends and he loved them all abundantly. A special cousin Carol O’Gilvie expresses deepest appreciation to his loving nephew Larral Player, his excellent care providers Johnnie, Carlos and Mrs. Saher Waraich for the care given to Jerome over the years. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service Monday, November 19, 2012, 11:00am at DUGGAN’S SERRA MORTUARY, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City. Interment to follow at Skylawn Memorial Park, San Mateo. The repass will follow the committal at Third Baptist Church, 1399 McAllister St., SF.
