Victim of apparent shooting found dead

A man was found dead in Oakland’s Dimond neighborhood early Saturday, the victim of an apparent shooting, police said.

Ian Smart, 27, of Oakland was found suffering from gunshot wounds on the 3100 block of Pleitner Avenue at about 1 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrest has been made.
