Deputies find man fatally shot

One man was shot dead in Bay Point late Friday, investigat­ors said.

Contra Costa County sheriff’s deputies received a call of gunfire on the 2200 block of Placer Drive at 10:30 p.m. on Friday, said Jimmy Lee, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Department.

Officers arrived and found the man, whose name has not yet been released, in the doorway of a residence, suffering from gunshot wounds, Lee said.

An ambulance took the man to John Muir Medical Center in Concord, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made.
