SLEEK SELECTIONS

- By Maghan McDowell

Roland Mouret — known for curve-hugging frocks — has created a 30-piece capsule collection for Banana Republic using the San Francisco brand’s Sloan fabric, a bistretch fabric made to be figure-flattering.

“We were drawn to and inspired by Roland’s skill for draping and attention to fit,” Melloney Birkett, vice president of women’s design at Banana Republic, told us in an e-mail. “Roland was very hands-on and involved with every stage of the process.” The line, which launched Thursday, is modeled by Karolina Kurkova and ranges from $49.50 to $165. The best part? Many of its sleek black-and-white and color-blocked creations pair perfectly with both heels and flats, making the commuter quick-change a

little more fashion friendly.
