Teresa Balestrier­i

Teresa Passed away peacefully on Sept. 10, 2014. Her family was grateful for having had her to love and appreciate all these years. Teresa was the loving wife of the late Gaeton (Tom) Balestrier­i for 48 years and the cherished mother of Frank (Mary) Balestrier­i and Tom (Vickie) Balestrier­i. Adored Nana of Tommy, Jimmy (Jennifer), Julie, Nick, Mike and the late Tony Balestrier­i. She will also be missed by many friends and cousins throughout the Bay Area.

A lifelong resident of San Francisco, she was raised in North Beach and graduated from Galileo High School. She married the love of her life, Tom Balestrier­i, during WWII, after meeting at an Italian picnic, it was love at first sight. After the war, they settled in the Marina and raised two sons. When her two sons went off to college at Santa Clara, she joined her husband to work with him in his accounting practice in North Beach where she remained for 25 years as a bookkeeper. She will always be remembered for amazing family dinners, her great generosity and the unconditio­nal love she had for her family. She always found the goodness in people.

The family would like to thank the staff and her friends at Atria in Daly City as well as the staffs at Pacifica Rehab and Hospice. A private service will be held for the immediate family. Donations can be sent to Sisters of Mercy, Marian Oaks, Burlingame or Salesian Boys Club.
