Warriors acquire forward David Lee in a sign-and-trade deal with the Knicks, relinquish­ing Kelenna Azubuike, Anthony Randolph and Ronny Turiaf. Lee agrees to a six-year, $80 million contract with Golden State.

Warriors fire Don Nelson as coach and replace him with assistant Keith Smart.

Venture capitalist Joe Lacob and Mandalay Entertainm­ent CEO Peter Guber assume control as the team’s new owners. They replace Chris Cohan, who four months earlier agreed to sell to Lacob/ Guber for $450 million despite a larger offer from Oracle CEO Larry Ellison.
