Lynn was born in Wisconsin on December 24, 1951 and died in her home in Felton, California in November 2014, just shy of her 63rd birthday, She is survived by Joyce Mathison, her daughter Brooklyn Mathison Joseph, son-in law, Kristofer Joseph, grandson Kole DeMatteo Joseph, granddaugh­ter Mia Lyn Joseph, mother Joyce Mathison and sister Diane Howard of Vero Beach Fl, nephew Steve Kaczkowski of Milwaukee, niece Jennifer Desimone and her grand niece.

Lynn attended the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse 1970-72 leaving to start a career in Milwaukee. She lived on Newhall Street as part of a women’s collective, had many friends and participat­ed in Lesbian-feminist political action. She worked at the Allis Chalmers Industrial factory to save money to travel to Europe between 1974 and 1975. Her journey was the catalyst for exploratio­n to the far flung corners of the Earth,

In 1976, Lynn moved to San Francisco. In 1979, she gave birth to Brooklyn Mathison. Lynn was on the vanguard of reproducti­ve freedom and the creation of “alternativ­e families”. After two years as a stay at home mom, Lynn returned to work at Pacific Bell where she moved through the ranks to achieve middle level management, developing and co-coordinati­ng “Erick” an employee referral/reward promotiona­l division.

In 1997, Lynn graduated from University of San Francisco in business management and computer science. After early retirement in 2000, Lynn obtained a credential in early childhood education and worked at UC-Santa Cruz and the Montessori School of Scotts Valley. She lived in Woodside, California and came to rest in Felton, California.

We are having a celebratio­n of Lynn’s life. Saturday, January 3 at 10am. Unity Church 2690 Ocean Ave, SF. All are welcome.
