Marion Lorraine Zich

Marion Lorraine Zich was born on November 21, 1922 to David and Hazel Turner of Klamath Falls and Langell Valley, Oregon, and passed away in Redwood City on December 13, 2014. She graduated as salutatori­an of her class at Bonanza High School in Bonanza, Oregon.

Marion married Joseph Zich and had three children: Larry, Helen Joanne, and Linda. The Zichs relocated to the Bay Area, and Marion began a long and successful career with See’s Candies. She started at See’s as a salesperso­n in their retail shops and retired after 35 years with the company as their Head Sales Supervisor, managing their shops in Northern California, the Pacific Northwest, Nevada and Hawaii. A highlight of her career at See’s was opening their retail shop in Hong Kong.

Marion and Joe traveled widely in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Fiji, and throughout the United States and Canada. After retirement, they spent many years in Healdsburg, thoroughly enjoying the wine country.

Marion was predecease­d by her wonderful husband, Joe, and her oldest child, Larry, who both passed away about 17 years ago. She is survived by her daughters: Helen Joanne Zich of South San Francisco, and Linda Cunningham (Roland) of Beaverton, Oregon; three grandchild­ren: Kelley LaMonte, Joseph Zich (Rachel) and Sarah Fredericks (Ormond); seven greatgrand­children; and three great-great grandchild­ren.

Family and friends may visit after 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 3, 2015 and are invited to attend the 1:00 PM Funeral Liturgy service at CHAPEL OF THE HIGHLANDS, 194 Millwood Dr. at El Camino Real in Millbrae. Private interment will be at Oakmound Cemetery in Healdsburg.
