Goals by Francois Beauchemin in the third period and Cam Fowler at 2:42 in overtime Sunday propelled the Ducks to a 2-1 victory over Vancouver in Anaheim.

It wasn’t looking like a potential victory until the rally, which Ryan Getzlaf generated with two assists.

On the game-winner, Getzlaf got the puck to Devante Smith-Pelly at the edge of the crease and Ryan Miller made the save as the puck deflected off the blade of his stick. Fowler was there to bury the rebound for his third career overtime goal.

“It was kind of a weird play,” Fowler said. “It was stuck in someone’s feet and I gave it a good whack. By the time I stood up, I saw people celebrating.”

Frederik Andersen faced only 14 shots, the fewest by the Canucks this season

The two-time defending Pacific Division champions are 8-0-1 in their past nine games against Vancouver. The Canucks, who were tied with the Ducks atop the Western Conference standings four weeks ago at 35 points each, are now 11 points behind Anaheim. Panthers 6, Maple Leafs 4: Brad Boyes scored a tie-breaking power-play goal in host Florida’s four-goal third period to propel the Panthers past Toronto

Willie Mitchell, Dmitry Kulikov and Scottie Upshall also scored in the third for the Panthers, who have won four of five.

James van Riemsdyk had a goal and an assist for Toronto.
