Rudy Stefanuto

With deep sadness dearly beloved Rudy Stefanuto passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 22, 2015. Rudy was born in Davenport, California to Italian immigrants Pio Stefanuto and Angelina Di Giulio. He was predecease­d by his wife of 72 years Julie (Barsanti) Stefanuto, his loving brothers Al Stefanuto and George Stefanuto. His nephews Michael Brenning, Raymond Barsanti and Al Yates. He is survived by his daughter Sandra Stefanuto-Clift, his son-inlaw Michael Clift, his sister Lori Brenning, and his sister-in-law Claire Barsanti. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their wives and husbands Tom Stefanuto Sandy, Judy Chadwick, Harold Brenning Carol, Linda Cory Robert, Patty Siebert Bob, Debbie Brenning, Roy Barsanti, Barbara Barsanti, Linda Downing Dyane, Cris Barsanti, Cynthia Thormahlen Gary, Carolynn Yates, Paul Barsanti Marrianne, David Barsanti Anne Marie.

He grew up on a farm in the Hunters Point area of San Francisco where his wife Julie was his neighbor. He lived with his wife and daughter in San Francisco until 1969 at which point he moved to the house of his dreams in Larkspur. He establishe­d the S&S Dental Laboratory at 450 Sutter with his brother Al. He worked as a dental technician until the age of 71. Then he enrolled into the jewelry making class at the College of Marin. He attended he was 91 years old.

He was a man of integrity who possessed many talents. He was always ready and available to help anyone with any kind of constructi­on project. He made jewelry and was the ultimate bartender. He made silver and gold chess set for the jeweler Sidney Mobell that sits in the Smithsonia­n Museum.

He was an adventurer at heart and he travelled to Hawaii, Mexico, Alaska, Thailand, Taiwan, Hon Kong, the Caribbean, Japan, and Europe. Alaska was the destinatio­n he loved best. He enjoyed his adventures up there with the late Craig Schwarz.

He loved animals and was always amused by their antics. He was a family man who worked hard to provide a good and happy life for them. He will live in the hearts of many people due to his kind and generous dispositio­n. A celebratio­n of life buffet wills he held in his memory for family and friends at Jason’s on March first.
