Duncan Keith scored the decisive goal at 16:12 of the third period, and the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Nashville Predators 4-3 on Saturday to win their Western Conference first-round playoff series 4-2.

Keith beat a screened Pekka Rinne with a laser from the left point. The defenseman, who had the winning goal in a 4-3 double-overtime victory in the series opener, also had two assists in the clinching game.

Keith retrieved the puck just inside the blue line and waited for an opening before sending a drive through a screen past Rinne’s right shoulder. He had two goals and five assists in the series.

Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp also scored for host Chicago, and Corey Crawford stopped 13 shots after replacing Scott Darling in the first period after the rookie gave up three goals.

Chicago will face St. Louis or Minnesota in the West semifinals.

James Neal had two goals for Nashville, and Matt Cullen also scored. Rinne stopped 28 shots, but the Predators bowed out in the first round for the sixth time in eight playoff appearance­s.

Flames 7, Canucks 4: Matt Stajan broke a tie with 4:17 left and host Calgary beat Vancouver to win the West series 4-2. ... The Flames will face the Ducks in the second round. ... Michael Ferland and Jiri Hudler each scored twice, and Sean Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau added goals for Calgary. Hudler tied it at 4 with a power-play goal at 6:14 of the third period. ... Luca Sbisa, Brandon McMillan, Jannik Hansen and Radim Vrbata scored for Vancouver, which failed to hold a 3-0 lead. ... Flames starting goalie Jonas Hiller was pulled early in the first after allowing two goals on three shots. Karri Ramo stopped 17 shots in relief. ... Ryan Miller made 28 saves in the loss. Red Wings 4, Lightning 0: Petr Mrazek stopped 28 shots for his second shutout of the playoffs as visiting Detroit took a 3-2 lead in the Eastern Conference series. ... Riley Sheahan, Drew Miller, Pavel Datsyuk and Danny DeKeyser scored for the Red Wings, who can close out the matchup by winning Game 6 at home Monday.

Islanders 3, Capitals 1: Nikolay Kulemin scored the go-ahead goal with 9:27 left as host New York evened the East series at 3-3. Game 7 is Monday in Washington. ... The Islanders’ John Tavares had a goal and assist, and Nick Leddy had two assists in what may have been the franchise’s final game at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The team will relocate to Brooklyn next season.
