Jack T. de Figueiredo, dearly beloved husband and loving father, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Portugal in 1932, to Arthur and Maria de Figueiredo. He has one sister, Celeste Giannini, of Redwood City, Ca.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, the former Margery Hutter, his children, David (Jack), Steve (Tina), Ron (Jan) and Linda de Figueiredo, and Lisa (Jason) McDonald. He is also survived by two step-children, Toby and Lisa Morris. He has 8 grandchild­ren, Stephanie Anderson, Courtnie Harmon, Jacque de Figueiredo, TJ and Corrina Fonseca, and Parker and Taylor MacDonald and Steven Borch, and 5 great grandchild­ren.

He was a graduate of Sequoia High School and College of San Mateo where he played basketball. After discharge from the Army, Jack married the former Valerie Spence in 1954 and they had five children. He then embarked on what was to become his newspaper career with the Redwood City Tribune for 30 years ending up as Advertisin­g Director. He was Publisher of the San Carlos Enquirer and former President of the California Newspaper Advertisin­g Managers and Executives Assn. After retiring from the newspaper business he became a Sales Associate with Coldwell Banker in San Carlos. He also was Co-Owner and As- sistant Publisher of California Golf Magazine, former President of Edgewood Golf Assn., member of the Elks Club, Lions Club, and active member of the community.

He loved cooking and BBQing for family gettogethe­rs. He and Margy moved to Sun City, Lincoln Hills, in 2002, where he enjoyed golf, camping and fishing with his buddies. His family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of Roseville Care Center for their care and concern. His funeral service will be held Wed., April 29, 2015, at Crippin & Flynn Chapel, 400 Woodside Road, Redwood City. Viewing at 11 am, service at 12 noon and internment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Los Altos. Reception following at Redwood City Elks Club. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Parkinsons’ Disease Foundation or American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
