Prolific flippers double down with two houses on market

-

Husband-wife actors and serial home flippers Corbin Bernsen and Amanda Pays have put their latest project up for sale in Toluca Lake at $1.499 million.

Whereas many couples find home remodeling a source of division, the two share an enthusiasm for renovation work and report that it has drawn them closer.

The single-story 1945 house, classified as French in style when Bernsen and Pays bought it late last year for $875,000, is now a crisp traditional with a distinctly modern vibe. Clean lines and white walls bring a sense of spaciousness into its 2,039 square feet.

A wall of white subway tile with a fireplace creates visual interest in the kitchen, which opens to a dining room and doors that lead to the water- wise gardens and outdoor seating areas. The formal living room also has a fireplace.

Vaulted ceilings and skylights enhance the three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

A swimming pool with a spa completes the grounds.

Bernsen and Pays also have listed their personal residence in San Fernando’s Valley Village for sale at $2.399 million, with the intent of scaling down to a smaller home.

Set on a corner lot, the renovated 1930s Tudor Revival is distinguished by a prominent gable and valley roofline, picture windows and droughttolerant landscaping. Soft hues, polished concrete and reclaimed hardware are used throughout the single-story house, which has three bedrooms in 3,340 square feet.

A formal living room with barrel-vaulted ceilings, a den with custom bookshelves, an office and a screening room are among other spaces.

Steel-and-glass doors open to European-inspired grounds containing a large pool, a covered patio, sitting areas and citrus trees. Adjacent to the pool is a barn-style guesthouse of 669 square feet.

The property previously sold for $900,000 in 2011, records show.
