How can anything in the last week possibly compete with

Domino’s strategy of letting you order a pizza by tweeting a pizza icon? Nothing can, but here are a few lower-calorie morsels:

Like many of its fast-food competitors, Dairy Queen is now moving to take soda off its kids’ menu, starting Sept. 1. While children can still have a soda with a kids meal, the chains are listing only drinks such as bottled water and milk on menus. What’s a little quirky in Dairy Queen’s case, though, is that it’s owned by billionaire Warren Buffett, who is also Coca-Cola’s largest shareholder — an 84-year-old who says he drinks sugary cherry Coke all the time and loves ice cream. As Buffett told For

tune magazine this year, “I checked the actuarial tables, and the lowest death rate is among 6-year-olds. So I decided to eat like a 6-year-old.”

The World Wildlife Fund is using #EndangeredEmoji to encourage people to make donations to help save real animals from extinction. Among the threatened animals in the drive are the giant panda, the blue whale, the Sumatran tiger and the Galapagos penguin.

If you’re among the unfortunates hit by identity theft, the Federal Trade Commission has set up a website to help you out of the mess at www.idtheft.gov. It has a thorough, printable checklist of what you should do. An unrelated but also useful item from the FTC: a YouTube video on what to do if your computer has been hacked.
